About

Copenhagen Business School (CBS)

Denmark consistently places in the higher ranges of any quality of life index, and as soon as you arrive here it’s easy to see why. With a more temperate climate than its Scandinavian neighbors and relatively simple visa requirements for international students, the country attracts students from all over the world to study in this green-minded enclave in the north of Europe.

You will have probably already heard of some of Denmark’s biggest business exports – Carlsberg, Lego and Bang & Olufsen to name a few – but the entrepreneurial spirit which underpinned these behemoths still runs through the country today. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Index it is ranked as the 6th most entrepreneurial country in the world, and many budding business leaders are currently being honed right here at Copenhagen Business School.

The school deliberately brings together students from all walks of life to make your learning experience as rich as it can possibly be, with personal and professional contacts from all over the world ready to be made. Whilst you’re there the class sizes are kept small so as to allow you to shine and your voice to be heard. Their dedicated MBA career team will be on hand from the beginning of your MBA journey until after your graduation so that you can benefit from the school’s long-standing links with the Danish business community and many international firms. Included in the MBA Program, students will take part in one-to-one career coaching sessions, interactive group workshops, company visits, case competitions and career days. The career course is a tailor-made, individual journey that helps you make the most out of opportunities during and after your MBA.

In addition to the core courses, the Full-time MBA and the Executive MBA students are invited to dive deeper into an area they find particularly interesting or feel will most benefit their career aspirations. Students can choose from four Concentrations – Digitalization, Entrepreneurship, Finance and Governance & Sustainability – and study theories and practices at the forefront of current thinking in these areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of MBA programmes does CBS offer?

CBS offers three triple-accredited MBA programmes, all designed to stretch your mind and challenge your perspectives: a Full-Time MBA (also called The Copenhagen MBA), an Executive MBA and an Executive MBA in Shipping & Logistics ( also called The Blue MBA).

Are the CBS MBA programmes ranked?

CBS is one a select number of business schools with the ‘triple crown’ of accreditations. This sought-after distinction is yet another guarantee that an MBA degree from CBS is recognised, respected and rewarded worldwide.

Copenhagen Business School is ranked as no 27 among European Business Schools in the 2019 Financial Times European Business School Ranking, and the Copenhagen MBA features as no 24 in the 2018 Financial Times Top MBAs for Women Ranking. Furthermore, the programme has been ranked in the top 20 in Europe by Bloomberg Businessweek in their 2019 Best B-Schools Ranking. The Copenhagen MBA features as no 31 globally and no 14 in Europe in the 2019 QS MBA Ranking. As an acknowledgment of the program’s ambition to lead the way in responsible management education, the Copenhagen MBA has been ranked among the top 15 globally in the 2019 Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking.

Can I personalize my Copenhagen MBA?

Yes! You can make your CBS MBA your own.

In addition to your core courses you will be invited to dive deeper into an area you find particularly interesting or you feel will benefit your career. Choose from four concentrations: Digitalisation, Entrepreneurship, Finance or Governance & Sustainability – all important topics for the leader of the future.

What is more, these concentrations will be shared with the Executive MBA students, allowing the Full-time MBA students to further expand their network.

What are the admissions requirements for the Copenhagen MBA?

The essential requirements are listed below.

  • Bachelor degree or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Academic transcript
  • At least three years of full-time post-bachelor degree work experience
  • A good GMAT score (the class average is 660) or a combined GRE score of 320

Do I have to take the GMAT before applying?

Your GMAT scores will be evaluated in combination with the other credentials indicated in your application. You can find more information about the GMAT and your nearest testing centre on their website, www.gmac.com. CBS’s School Code for the GMAT is JCZ-FT-20.

The process for visa applications is usually straightforward and easy, and a significant percentage of the graduating MBA class generally tend to stay on and take up employment in Denmark.
