I don’t have a business degree and/or my work experience is not business related. Can I still apply?

You do not need to have a specific business degree or specific work experience that is business related. We accept students from a diverse range of academic and professional fields, industries, and experiences.

My GPA is below the minimum. Can I still apply for the program?

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are reviewed holistically. For example, if your GPA is lower than the recommended, we would strongly encourage you to aim for the competitive score for the GMAT exam (650 or higher) or GRE exam (320 or higher) in order to make your application competitive. Essays, video compositions, interview, work experience and reference letters all play important roles in your application and the Admissions Committee will review every component of one’s application to decide.

Do I need to have full-time work experience for the MBA program?

Yes, work experience is a mandatory requirement for both the full-time and part-time MBA programs. The minimum requirement for admissions is at least 2 years full-time work experience (excluding internships, co-ops, and volunteer experiences) following the completion of an undergraduate degree. Without two years full-time post-baccalaureate work experience required for admission to our full-time and part-time MBA program, you would not be eligible at this time.

Do I need provide official documents now for you to review my application? Can I provide these later?

The unofficial scanned copies of your transcript and degree certificate can be used for your application to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. You can choose to mail in your official documents after a decision is made and/or by the final document deadline. Please note that should an offer of admission be made, it will be conditional upon receipt of official documents.

I don’t have my GMAT/GRE/English Proficiency Exam yet. Can I provide this after I submit my application?

Yes, you can submit your application first and provide your test scores after. When completing your application, please indicate the date you intend to write your exams. Without official test scores, however, your application will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee until they are provided. Test scores and official documents must be provided by the document deadline, which can be found on UBC’s Full-time MBA and Professional MBA websites.
