Tuck School of Business is located within Dartmouth College’s 269-acre campus, tucked away in the tiny town of Hanover, New Hampshire. The nearest major city is Boston, which is around a two-hour drive away.
Because of Tuck’s rural location, most students tend to stay in on-campus accommodations. This creates a strong sense of community within the school, allowing students to form closer relationships with their colleagues. Tuck sees this residential culture as a key part of its identity and a big reason why more than 70% of Tuck alumni regularly donate to the school.
Since its inception as a business school, Tuck has only ever offered one MBA: its full-time program. It takes place over the course of 24 months and is one of the top-ranked programs globally. The Financial Times Global MBA Ranking puts it at #18 in the world, while Bloomberg ranks it among the top five MBAs in the United States.
The curriculum of the Tuck MBA is rigorous, comprehensive, and multi-disciplinary – with core courses like Financial Accounting, Management Communication, Marketing, and Global Economics for Managers. In their second year, Tuck MBA students can choose from a variety of elective courses, from Corporate Communication to The Future of Capitalism to Strategic Leadership.
Tuck School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the largest accrediting body in the United States and one of the major three globally. The AACSB assesses the quality of a school’s business and accounting programs.
Tuck School of Business offers a wide range of scholarships to help students pay for their tuition and living costs. Students do not have to apply for a scholarship separately; each candidate is automatically considered for one when they apply for an MBA.
Scholarships here range from US$10,000 to the full $77,520 tuition, with the average award being $29,648 per year. You can find out more on the Tuck School of Business website.
Although Harvard offered the first MBA program in 1908, Tuck School of Business had been offering a similar business degree since 1901 – just under a slightly different name. That means Tuck was the first institution in the world to offer a master’s degree in business administration.
