Location

Yale School of Management is located in Evans Hall at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, less than two hours by train or car from New York City. With museums like the Yale Art Gallery and the Peabody Museum of Natural History, dozens of restaurants with international cuisine (from Japanese to Ethiopian to Thai), and easy access to parks and other outdoor activities, New Haven offers several social and cultural opportunities for students and locals alike.

Evans Hall, home of Yale SOM, boasts cutting-edge, sustainable design, with water- and energy-efficient features. The campus has 16 classrooms, as well as breakout rooms, lounges, the library, faculty offices, a central courtyard, and other common spaces to maximize interaction.

Accreditations

Yale University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The school has been accredited continuously by NECHE since 1929.

Programs

Yale School of Management has two MBA programs. The Yale MBA is a 24-month program. The first year consists of general courses on management and organizational perspectives, while students can choose electives in the second year. Courses cover the full spectrum of business topics, from consulting to finance to sustainability to data analytics. Work experience is preferred, but not required – recent students have an average of five years of previous experience.

The Yale MBA for Executives is a 22-month program, with classes taking place every other weekend. The program is 75% general management and 25% areas of focus (asset management, healthcare, or sustainability), with four in-residence weeks and one Global Network Week in which students can choose one of Yale SOM’s global partner schools for a week of intensive study and immersion. Students in the Yale MBA for Executives have an average of 14 years of work experience.

Scholarships

Yale School of Management offers merit-based scholarships for its MBA programs to exceptional candidates. All applicants are automatically considered for a scholarship, therefore no separate application is required.

The school also encourages students to explore external scholarship opportunities, as well as student loans and other potential benefits depending on their background.

Fun fact

Yale School of Management is a member of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), a global network of 32 top business schools in 30 countries, giving students, faculty, staff, and alumni the opportunity to experience and learn in different cultures and environments. This includes Global Network Courses, for-credit courses offered virtually by a member school open to students from all GNAM member schools. Students can also visit GNAM member schools physically during Global Network Weeks, where they attend classes, visit local businesses, and meet with local experts on current business issues.
