School

Location

Solvay’s campus is in Brussels. Brussels is one of the most international cities in Europe. A large number of international organizations have their headquarters in Brussel, which attracts a large expat population. The city has plenty of green spaces and has made tremendous efforts toward sustainability, in terms of energy performance, climate change, and air quality. Overall Brussels offers a high-quality life with many career opportunities.

Accreditations

Solvay holds the prestigious triple-crown accreditation: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. EQUIS is an international accreditation awarded by the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD). EFMD is an international accreditation organization for business schools, based in Brussels. The AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is an international impartial authority on postgraduate business education, established in 1967.

Programs

Solvay’ offers a part-time, 18-month, English-taught Executive MBA program, available on campus in Brussels. The minimum admission requirements are a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of three years of work experience, English proficiency, and GMAT scores.

Scholarships

Solvay offers a large number of partial scholarships ranging from 2,500 to 5,000 EUR. The scholarships are based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals; applicants must have personally and/or professionally contributed to one or more of the targets. The UN goals include ending poverty and hunger, promoting health, education, and gender equality, and providing clean water and affordable energy.

Solvay aims to become a recognized leader in the sustainable transformation of society. The Sustainable Development teaching initiative is constantly in dialogue with faculty members of every program in order to integrate the latest sustainability knowledge and practices into every program. One of the initiative’s most popular features is its use of guest lecturers. These guests include business executives and financial leaders working at major banks, venture capital firms, and multinational corporations. Each guest is invited to share their thoughts on sustainable finance and how they incorporate sustainability into their day-to-day decision-making.
