Frankfurt School is strategically located in Frankfurt, one of Europe’s key financial hubs and a major economic center in Germany. Stephanie Kutschmann, MBA Programme Manager, highlights, “When we think about Frankfurt School, we’re in the heart of Europe, in the financial capital.” (00:01)

Frankfurt School capitalizes on its unique location through strategic partnerships, collaborating closely with business leaders and top companies. The school is a vital link within Frankfurt’s ecosystem, bridging the gap between academia and industry.

Stephanie elaborates, “The MBA here plays a pivotal role in… bringing international talent to Germany.” (00:05)

Let’s further explore how the Frankfurt School MBA cultivates ethical leaders through a blend of academic rigor, practical experience, and industry engagement.

The Frankfurt School MBA: Program Structure and Flexibility

Frankfurt School offers a variety of high-quality MBA programs. The Full-time MBA is an English-taught, 12-month program. The program is ideally suited for those hoping to make a career pivot or elevate their managerial skills. The program curriculum (60 ECTS) includes core modules, electives, and thesis options.

Professor Adrian Buss, Associate Professor of Finance and Academic Director of MBA Programs, explains, “We offer the Full-time MBA program, which runs for one year. Students are fully involved within the weekdays; attending executive talks, working on their selected electives, and and some students also participate in internships.” (00:22) The Full-time MBA program offers an intensive and enriching curriculum to those wanting to deepen their business knowledge.

The Part-time MBA is an English-taught, 21-month, part-time program. The program is ideal for professionals who want to study while working. The program is flexible, taught over two block weeks, and 16 extended weekends.

Professor Buss notes, “We have a part-time program that runs every three weeks, on the weekend. Students can take this whilst working.” (00:33) This flexibility ensures students get the most out of the part-time program, without compromising their professional and personal lives.

The part-time program consists of core lectures, electives, and a five-month thesis period. MBA candidates can tailor their learning experience through doing a module abroad in either Europe (Oslo) or Asia (Singapore or Shanghai). Candidates can further personalize their learning journey by choosing from a variety of different electives.

Building a Future-Proof Skillset

Both MBA programs offer enriching learning opportunities, designed to enhance skills based on current industry trends. By addressing skill gaps, both programs ensure graduates have a future-proof skillset that will bolster their careers.

Stephanie highlights, “We want to enhance the students that are coming in and work with them on what is missing in their skill set.” (00:41)

Through a combination of academic knowledge and practical application, graduates leave the program well-prepared for future leadership roles and career challenges.

From Good to Great: Sharpen Your Leadership Skills

A key reason why many professionals pursue an MBA is to develop their managerial skills. At Frankfurt School, ethical leadership is at the core of their MBA programs.

MBA candidates engage in group work that fosters interaction and collaboration. This prepares students for today’s multicultural work environments. Additionally, case studies and role-playing scenarios are used as tools to help candidates unlock new leadership skills. (01:03)

In the final project, MBA candidates apply their knowledge by leading projects and solving real-world challenges for established companies.

Professor Buss explains that the MBA program’s success can be measured, in part, by whether graduates leave the program as thoughtful, reflective leaders. (01:58)

Building a Richer Learning Experience with Diversity

Frankfurt School fosters a diverse and inclusive learning environment, supporting women in business and candidates from varied backgrounds.

Professor Buss stresses, “One of our jobs is to create a classroom that is diverse and inspiring for the students. We are trying to get students from different corporate backgrounds… We are trying to have a nice mix between genders and also between nationalities.” (01:26

For example, in the Full-time MBA program, 31% of the cohort are women. Cohort candidates have a background in: Banking, Consulting, Insurance, Media, Transportation, and other fields.

In the Part-time MBA program, 42% of candidates are women. Candidates have backgrounds in Aviation/Aerospace, Law, Manufacturing, Technology/Telecoms/IT, Energy, Tourism, and more.

A diverse cohort enriches learning by exposing candidates to varied perspectives and business practices.
