Personal one-on-one coaching to achieve results

Emmy Druesne’s coaching strategy revolves around coaching a person and not a role or a position. She has 13 years of managerial experience and 2,172 hours of coaching experience. The purpose of her role at NEOMA Business School is “to help students get more aware of who they are, how they interact with the world, and who they want to be.” (00:12)

She believes in transforming people’s lives and accelerating their careers by getting up close and personal. She shares, “One of the things we do is really personal one-on-one coaching. So, I really support them into achieving the results.” (00:21)

Building awareness and behavioral range

Emmy’s strategies are customized to foster reflective thinking and are in line with NEOMA Business Schools’ brand manifesto, which includes “challenging the traditional models to provide its students with the skills they need to pursue the professions of tomorrow.”

To that end, one-on-one personal coaching sessions are accompanied by class teaching for MBA students at NEOMA. Emmy says, “For me, it’s less teaching…it’s more helping them be more responsible. It’s less like a top-down approach. It’s more: Okay, what am I responsible for? Where am I a victim? Where am I in responsibility? And how can I broaden my behaviors? How can I be aware of that and be more competent or say what I do and how can I expand my range of behaviors and competencies?” (00:27)

When we remain unaware, we tend to stay in certain patterns of behaviors and competencies. To be able to consciously expand one’s behavioral range and customize them according to situations helps to not only bring about positive relational exchanges but also to wade the way out of difficult situations.

Learning from relationships & energy management to serve the world

Better human relationships mean better business relationships. This is the fundamental rule of doing business. NEOMA School of Business promotes the personal development of its MBA students by fostering empathy and collaboration.

Two of the four values on which the school stands are openness and respect. These provide the right environment for internalizing the learnings from personal development modules and provide a ground for their implementation.

Emmy shares, “What I love most about NEOMA is really the quality of relationship that I can trade with people. In every group that I’ve seen, they always have this awareness of the group and what can I bring to the group and what can the group bring to me.“ (01:00)

A proponent of energy management to serve the world, Emmy adds, “There’s always those two levels: The eagerness to understand and to learn from the relationship that they’re going to grow in the MBA program. I love how they can use those energies really in service of the world and in the service of communication and the relationship. That’s what I love.“ (01:16)

Personal one-on-one coaching, behavioral range expansion, and human energy management are some of the very unique aspects of personal development.

While MBA students support the ambition of NEOMA Business School, they can also help bring the mindset transformations required to face global business challenges.
