Location
Alliance Manchester Business School is located, unsurprisingly, in Manchester. The city is home to one of the largest student populations in Europe, with around 6,000 international students attending the University of Manchester. As the fastest-growing region outside of London, Manchester is an attractive business destination, with 65 of FTSE100 companies located in the city. This includes companies like the BBC, Google, Bosch, Siemens, and Deloitte.
AMBS itself is a short walk from the city center, so students have easy access to many of the city’s famous landmarks, its central business district, the trendy Northern Quarter, and four national parks. In short, Manchester’s youthful energy permeates into every nook and cranny of this vibrant, entrepreneurial city.
Accreditations
Alliance Manchester Business School is a triple-accredited business school, which means it has been accredited by the three largest and most influential accrediting bodies: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Less than 1% of business schools worldwide hold the coveted triple accreditation.
Programs
Alliance Manchester Business School offers four MBA programs. The Full-time MBA is 18-24 months in duration, for candidates with 3+ years of professional experience.
The Global MBA is an online, part-time program, taking 18 or 24 months to complete. The Global MBA also includes six in-person workshops, available in Manchester, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, or Singapore.
The Global Executive MBA is an online, 18-month, part-time program, for senior candidates with an average of 10+ years of managerial experience. As part of the program, students participate in five in-person workshops in Manchester, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shanghai, or Singapore.
Scholarships
Alliance Manchester Business School offers merit-based scholarships and are only available for self-financing candidates. Scholarship applicants must meet (or exceed) all of the MBA admissions criteria, contribute to the diversity of the MBA class, demonstrate strong values and ethics, and showcase the potential to become an alumni ambassador in the future.
Most of the scholarships are granted on a rolling basis, so candidates who apply early have a stronger chance of winning a scholarship.
Fun fact
One notable alumni of Alliance Manchester Business School is Alison Horner, former Chief People Officer at Tesco. Alison completed the Global MBA at AMBS, where she received The Guardian’s “Women in Management'' Scholarship. After graduating, she worked in a number of senior operations roles at Tesco, before becoming the company’s first female Operations Director and then Chief People Officer. As the CPO of Tesco, Alison was responsible for 500,000 employees across 12 countries. Today, she serves on the Advisory Board of AMBS.
