Birmingham Business School offers a number of its postgraduate distance learning courses through its online learning platform. These comprehensive courses pair world-class academics with the latest teaching methods.

Location

Birmingham Business School is located at the University of Birmingham Edgbaston Campus in the University House, a modern building set on 2.75 acres of greenery. The building consists of 14 teaching rooms, computer labs, an MBA common room, an entrepreneurship and innovation incubation space, an interview room, and a café and business lounge area.

Birmingham is a vibrant student city and the second-largest city in the UK. It offers a multitude of exciting cultural activities and events, from the Birmingham Royal Ballet to the Birmingham Comedy Festival to the St. Patrick’s Day parade to Birmingham Pride (the UK’s largest two-day Gay Pride parade). Students can also expect dynamic post-graduate career opportunities in Birmingham, with top employers like Sainsbury’s, Mondelez, Jaguar, and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

Accreditations

Birmingham Business School holds the prestigious triple-accreditation, meaning it has been accredited by the three largest and most influential accrediting bodies: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).

Programs

Birmingham Business School offers six MBA programs. The MBA International Business is a 12-month, full-time program for candidates with at least five years of work experience including managerial experience. The MBA Global Banking and Finance is a 12-month program that equips students with a deep understanding of the modern, international banking and finance industry. The MBA Executive is a part-time program that lasts between 2.5 and 4.5 years, designed to fit students’ existing careers.

The Online MBA is a 2.5-year program focusing on the challenges of responsible business. The Online MBA Clinical Leadership is a 2.5-year, flexible, online program made up of a core MBA curriculum as well as healthcare-focused modules. Finally, the Birmingham MBA in Singapore is a 2-4-year program, largely based on the Birmingham MBA but drawing on more Asian cases and business contexts.

Scholarships

Birmingham Business School offers a number of MBA scholarships for its full-time and Executive MBA programs. Available scholarships for the full-time MBA include the Birmingham Business School MBA Scholarship (open to all candidates who have been accepted into the program), the African MBA Scholarship (awarded to candidates from Africa who demonstrate intellectual excellence, relevant experience, and a commitment to the economic development of Africa), and the Claire and Sean Henry Scholarship (awarded to ambitious, outstanding candidates from India with relevant experience).

A limited number of partial scholarships are available for Executive MBA candidates and are awarded based on their application, CV, and personal statement.

The Careers in Business team at Birmingham Business School offers specialist career support for MBA students. Its services range from general advice and guidance to career development lectures and workshops to mock interviews. During the program, MBA students also have the opportunity to connect and engage with leading companies, such as Accenture, IBM, Unilever, Deloitte, HSBC, and Capgemini. Birmingham MBA alumni work at major corporations in industries like finance and banking (PwC, Barclays, KPMG), consulting (Accenture, Infosys Consulting), technology (IBM, Ericsson, Adobe Systems), healthcare (NHS, Aurora Biomed), and consumer goods (Danone, Panasonic).

Birmingham Business School also supports entrepreneurs with its BEnterprise initiative, which provides an incubator space and one-to-one guidance from experts. Of course, students also gain access to the school’s industry ties, as well as networking events, skills programs, funding, and access to the media.
