Copenhagen Business School (CBS) is located primarily in four modern buildings in Frederiksberg, close to the heart of Copenhagen where MBA programmes are hosted in a former Royal Copenhagen porcelain factory. Student facilities on campus include multimedia labs, interpretation labs, conference rooms, personal computers, and a Learning Resource Center.
Denmark’s quality of life is consistently ranked one of the best in the world, with Copenhagen regularly voted among the top cities in the world to live and work. The Danish capital city has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, leads the sustainability agenda in city development, and is home to some of the world’s best restaurants.
You might have heard of some of Denmark’s biggest business exports – like Carlsberg, Lego, and Pandora, to name a few. Copenhagen itself is a buzzing business hub, where you can find companies like Microsoft, Marriott International, IBM, PwC, and Zara.
Copenhagen Business School offers three MBA programmes. The Copenhagen MBA is a full-time, one-year programme for candidates with at least three years of work experience. With an informal learning atmosphere and small class sizes, Sustainable Management serves as the central theme of the Copenhagen MBA.
The CBS Executive MBA is a personalized, flexible programme, which can be completed over 21-25 months or stepwise through CBS’ Executive Certificate path. Modules in the CBS Executive MBA take place in several cities around the world.
Finally, the CBS Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics (also known as “The Blue MBA”) is a modular programme with eight week-long modules over the course of 22 months. It provides students with important insights and management theories in the maritime sector. The Blue MBA is for applicants with a minimum of five years of work experience in a relevant field.
All MBA programmes at Copenhagen Business School are triple-accredited. This means that CBS is a part of the less than 1% of business schools around the world that have been accredited by the three largest and most influential accrediting bodies: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
CBS offers a number of scholarships for its Full-time MBA candidates. The Danish Society for Education and Business (DSEB) scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that covers up to 30% of tuition fees. The e-fellows scholarship covers 40% of tuition to an alumnus of the e-fellows network. The Waldemar Schmidt scholarship is a full scholarship, with priority given to Brazilian candidates who are accepted to the Copenhagen MBA. Lastly, the Scholarship for Excellence is awarded to candidates who demonstrate outstanding academic achievements and whose background, work experience, and personal profile contribute to the diversity of the MBA class.
Most students in the CBS Executive MBA and The Blue MBA are partially or fully sponsored by their employers. If you work in the maritime industry, you might also be eligible for funding from the Danish Maritime Fund.
Prospective students can also explore external financial aid options, such as Prodigy Finance.
The Copenhagen MBA is the only full-time MBA in Scandinavia with a focus on sustainable leadership. From the start of the program, students will strengthen their skills in this important field through a rigorous 50-hour course called Managing Sustainable Corporations.
CBS is also home to CBS Sustainability, a multi-disciplinary research center dedicated to the study of sustainable practices and developments in organizations and society. The center was established in 2002 and is considered one of the leading research centers of its kind in Europe today.
