Location

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School’s historic campus is in the seaside town of Blackrock, a short distance from Dublin City Center. The school’s library is within a beautiful 19th-century chapel. Many multinational companies have made Ireland the hub of their European operations such as Google, HP, Apple, IBM, Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Pfizer, GSK, and Genzyme. MBA graduates will have plenty of career and internship opportunities.

Accreditations

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School holds the prestigious triple-crown accreditation: EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA. EQUIS is an international accreditation awarded by the European Foundation of Management Development (EFMD). EFMD is an international accreditation organization for business schools, based in Brussels. The AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. The Association of MBAs (AMBA) is an international impartial authority on postgraduate business education, established in 1967.

Programs

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School offers three MBA programs. The Full-Time MBA is a 12-month program for early-career professionals with at least three years of work experience. The Executive MBA is a part-time, 24-month program with evening classes, available twice a week. The Executive Modular MBA is a part-time, 24-month program with classes available twice a month.

Scholarships

The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School offers a wide range of MBA scholarships. This includes the Business & Finance Awards MBA Scholarship (awarded on merit, covering full tuition), the Dean’s Impact Award MBA Scholarships China (awarded on merit to Chinese applicants), and the GMAT MBA Scholarships (awarded on academic merit and a commitment to school ambassador duties, covering full-tuition).

Fun fact

UCD Michael Smurfit offers the first of its kind Intercultural Development Program in Ireland. The program is meant to help business leaders develop cultural competencies, inclusive leadership, and human skills. The school considers these skills as key 21st-Century skills. As business is becoming increasingly global and organizations have an increasingly diverse population, learning to integrate and work with international colleagues is exceptionally important. The program is open to all business students and alumni and covers current and relevant intercultural topics.
