Renowned Reputations Come Together With EMBA-Global

Successful global leaders establish themselves on trustworthy reputations.

The EMBA-Global program symbolizes the union of two titans in business education, Columbia Business School and London Business School. Offering a dual MBA degree from both institutions, this program spans 20 months across New York City and London, two pivotal international business hubs.

Columbia Business School, in Manhattan, is renowned for its research focus and high post-MBA salaries. London Business School, adjacent to Regent’s Park, is acclaimed for its diverse international community and global outlook.

In the 2022 QS Global MBA Rankings, Columbia Business School was distinguished with the 9th position, while London Business School notably secured the 6th spot. Yet, the EMBA-Global program is about much more than reputation.

Both schools produce MBA graduates who excel in finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

Working together, they create a learning environment that facilitates visionary thinking and leadership skills.

Professional Growth and Academic Challenges

Joining EMBA-Global often marks a significant personal and professional evolution. The curriculum is comprehensive and rigorous, focusing on general management as well as global business and international perspectives.

Current student Emily Erickson says, “I had always envisioned getting my MBA. My academic background is in foreign policy. I’m working in technology right now, and as I started to make that shift, I started to think forward to what might be the next academic challenge for myself that would help connect what I was looking for from a study perspective.” (00:00)

Karim Amer is another student transitioning roles who emphasizes the importance of the education for taking on leadership positions. “Coming from a medical background, I didn’t have much of a foundation in business. However, I really understood that this was incredibly important in becoming a leader, or a global leader, for the future.” (00:18)

This blend of backgrounds and experiences is precisely what EMBA-Global caters to.

EMBA-Global is a five-term, 20-month program. Core courses take place in week-long blocks that alternate between London and New York each month during the first academic year. The program meticulously prepares graduates for global leadership through core courses like “Leadership and Organisational Change” and “Global Economic Environment”. In the second academic year, students choose electives from both schools.

These blocks enable immersive learning, facilitating deep dives into subjects without the constant juggle of work pressures.

As Karim Amer says, “I’m a father of three, so managing schedules and an incredibly busy work life is very important to me.” (02:48)

Beyond the flexibility of its schedule, EMBA-Global is distinguished by its esteemed faculty. A combination of leading scholars and industry practitioners, they balance academic theory with practical workplace application. The teaching is geared toward fostering critical thinking and innovative problem-solving, incorporating case studies and simulations for a dynamic learning experience.

Build a Diverse Worldwide Network

EMBA-Global thrives on the diversity of its student body, encompassing management, consulting, and strategy professionals from sectors like finance and tech. And with 22 different nationalities represented the program creates a global melting pot of perspectives.

The program’s collaborative nature facilitates cross-cultural interactions and creates a lively learning environment. “Our cohort is segmented into study groups,” Emily says. “My group alone represents cities like New York, London, São Paulo, and Moscow, spanning a myriad of industries.” (00:44)

The EMBA-Global program offers access to both Columbia Business School and London Business School’s extensive alumni networks, with over 100,000 alumni and 150 alumni clubs worldwide. This network affords opportunities to forge collaborations, seek guidance through mentorship, and experience professional advancement within a sphere of influential peers.

Daniela Hernandez, another EMBA-Global student, says, “In terms of having access to that diverse cohort, it accelerated my career in a sense that it would have taken me years to have access to that quality of professionals.” (00:54)

Unlocking Global Excellence

The EMBA-Global program promises an experience that broadens horizons and prepares graduates for leadership roles, armed with a fresh perspective to embrace the global business ecosystem.

“Be ready for world-class professors and incredible conversations with classmates. Your worldview and the way that you approach problems will change for the better.” Emily says. (03:25)
