Founded in 1914 as the School of Commerce, one of the first four-year universities in the US to offer a commerce curriculum, the Lundquist College of Business is part of the University of Oregon. This is a public research university and a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU). Renamed in 1994 after a landmark $10 million endowment from alumnus Charles H. Lundquist, the college draws on Oregon's distinctive culture of innovation, sustainability, and Pacific Rim connections to shape its approach to business education.
Lundquist College of Business’s campus is in Portland, Oregon. The campus is located in Portland’s Old Town Chinatown. The university has strong ties to the local business community and offers internships, case studies, real-world consulting projects, and independent research options in Portland’s dynamic and innovative community. Oregon is known for its Pacific coastline, Cascade and Coastal mountain ranges, forests, and farmlands.
Lundquist College of Business is accredited by the AACSB (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). This international accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
Lundquist College of Business offers two MBA programs. The Oregon MBA is available as a full-time, two-year program for early-career professionals, with an accelerated option for candidates with an undergraduate business degree. The Oregon Executive MBA is a part-time, 20-month program based in Portland, designed for mid-level and senior working professionals. Students also have the option of combining the MBA with an MSF program.
Applicants to the MBA programs are considered for merit-based scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's GMAT, GPA, and work experience (amounts awarded vary). The school offers two scholarships for its EMBA program: the General University Scholarship (awarded to exceptional students) and the Diversity Excellence Scholarship (awarded based on financial need and contribution to the school's diversity mission).
The Lundquist College of Business and its Oregon MBA program are ranked in the top five on The Princeton Review’s list of Best Green MBA programs. The MBA program placed fifth; ranking is based on actual student experience, with students themselves assessing how well the program prepared them for a career in the “green” job market through training and experience, including environmental, sustainability, and social responsibility issues.
Since 2015, Lundquist College has consistently appeared in the top 10 in The Princeton Review’s Green MBA category. The program offers several popular minors in business and sustainability.
