Location
Smith School is located in College Park, a short distance from the White House. The D.C. metropolitan area provides unparalleled professional opportunities that are enmeshed in the circuitry of government, corporate and international power. The D.C. area is also exceptionally culturally rich with museums, national landmarks, parks, and restaurants.
Accreditations
Smith School is accredited by AACSB. The AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide.
Programs
Smith School offers four MBA programs. The Full-time MBA is a 24-month, on-campus program for early-career professionals. The Flex MBA is a part-time, hybrid format program designed for working professionals. The Online MBA is a fully online, part-time program that can be completed in as little as 24 months. The Executive MBA is a part-time, 17-month program for senior-level business professionals with 8-10+ years of progressive professional experience of which at least three to five years should have been in management.
Scholarships
Applicants of the MBA programs are automatically considered for multiple merit-based scholarships, fellowships, and awards. This includes the Dean's Scholarship (covering full tuition costs), the Smith Scholarship ( awards range from 20,000 to 60,000 USD), and the Dean's Fellowship (covering full tuition plus a one-year graduate assistantship). Smith School awards scholarships based on scholastic merit, GMAT/GRE scores, and work experience.
Fun fact
Smith School provides several opportunities for students to get business experience outside of the classroom. Students have the opportunity to manage the three million dollars Mayer Fund, by designing a smart investment portfolio and making real investments. The Dingman Center provides funds and networking connections to students who want to start their own companies. The school has another twelve Excellence Centers that immerse students in real work experience including the Center for Global Business, which provides global learning opportunities for students both on-campus and abroad, and the Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change which researches and implements innovative approaches to leadership and leadership development.
