The Stockholm School of Economics is located in the center of Stockholm, a city with a high quality of life, excellent employment prospects, and an enviable work-life balance. Stockholm is one of Europe’s most beautiful capital cities, with stunning archipelago islands and plenty of green parks and nature reserves.
It is the beating economic heart of a nation that has always been at the vanguard of pioneering social, economic, and political policies, as well as producing some of the most famous and influential brands in the world today. The likes of H&M, Ericsson, IKEA, and Spotify all originated in Sweden and have all hired SSE graduates. In fact, of the top 30 Swedish companies on the OMX Stockholm (Stockholm Stock Exchange’s leading share index), more than 80% have at least one SSE alum on their Board of Directors and Executive Management team.
The Stockholm School of Economics offers a flagship Executive MBA, a part-time, 18-month program for professionals who are looking to lead within international organizations. The program takes place on three continents – previous cohorts have visited Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US.
The SSE MBA ranks particularly well when it comes to work experience opportunities, corporate social responsibility, and gender equality. Sustainability, which is so ingrained in Swedish society, is also integrated into the program. Students can choose from a wide-ranging set of elective modules, such as Social Innovation, Behavioral Science, Digital Transformation, and Gender Equity and Leadership.
By the end of the program, students will have gained an understanding of not only the fundamentals of modern-day businesses but also the way that this unique European nation operates.
The Stockholm School of Economics was the first Swedish university to be fully accredited by the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).
SSE is also a member of the Global Alliance in Management Education (CEMS), the International Consortium for Executive Development Research (ICEDR), the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA), the European University of Social Sciences (CIVICA), and the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM).
The Stockholm School of Economics offers scholarships for the SSE MBA. The SSE MBA Scholarship covers the full tuition fee and is awarded to candidates with strong leadership and responsible business development skills.
The SSE MBA Corporate Partner Scholarship covers the full tuition fee and is awarded to a top-performing manager employed by one of SSE’s Corporate Partners. The SSE MBA Carl Silfvén Scholarship covers the full tuition fee as well as traveling and accommodation costs up to a certain amount and is awarded to a candidate who works at a Swedish organization anywhere in the world.
Finally, the SSE MBA NSHK Scholarship is awarded to high-potential managers working at a Norsk-Svenska Handelsjammaren (NSHK) member company, with a diverse background, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a proven record of successful leadership.
The Student Association at the Stockholm School of Economics (SASSE) is a leading academic institution with about 2,000 members. It specializes in education and research in economics, finance, corporate, law, business, managerial sciences, and marketing.
SASSE is organized into eight committees, each of which is headed by a president. The committees are the Business Committee (NU), the Education Committee (UU), the Entertainment Committee (PU), the International Committee (IntU), the Tech Committee (TechU), the Media Committee (MedU), the Social Committee (SU), and the Sports Committee (IdU).
The student union at SASSE is known for its close ties to the business community, with corporate sponsors like Deloitte, McKinsey & Company, Nordea, and H&M.
