Universidad San Francisco de Quito is Ecuador's first fully private university and the pioneering liberal arts institution in the Andean region. Founded in 1988, USFQ is ranked #1 in Ecuador and is the only university worldwide with campuses in both the Galápagos Islands and the Amazon Rainforest. With faculty from 30 countries and over 8,500 students across 10 academic colleges, USFQ emphasizes freedom, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship while maintaining the largest academic library in Ecuador.

Location

USFQ's main campus sits in Cumbayá, a valley just outside Quito, Ecuador's capital city, nestled in the Andes at an elevation of 2,850 meters. Programs

The Master in Business Administration (MBA) is an 18-month part-time program comprising 16 courses totaling 47 credits. Designed for working professionals, the program combines liberal arts philosophy with practical business management through evening and Saturday classes. The curriculum emphasizes sustainable business practices, entrepreneurship, and ethical leadership, featuring international study weeks that expose participants to diverse global business contexts and develop critical-thinking leaders capable of managing organizations in Ecuador and worldwide.

Scholarships

USFQ offers a 20% Alumni Scholarship for university graduates. Additional discounts include 20% for Contacto Empresarial USFQ partner company employees, 20% for corporate groups from the third student onwards, 25% for Diners Club employees (extended to family), 20% for Produbanco-Grupo Promerica employees, and 5% for upfront cash payment. Flexible financing includes up to 24 months interest-free with certain credit cards and deferred payments up to 48 months with interest.

Fun fact

Universidad San Francisco de Quito was Ecuador's first university to participate in two discoveries of worldwide scientific importance: the top quark and the first important new evidence of CP violation, that is, evidence of asymmetry between matter and antimatter in the universe through collaboration on the DØ experiment at Fermilab, demonstrating how USFQ combines liberal arts education with cutting-edge scientific research.
