Location
Rotterdam School of Management is in the cosmopolitan city of Rotterdam, the second-largest and one of the most diverse cities in the Netherlands. Located on the Woudestein campus of Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), RSM is equipped with ultra-modern facilities, including lecture halls, conference and exam rooms, a large auditorium, a food plaza, quiet study areas, a sports center, a library, a supermarket, student housing, and a pavilion. In line with its reputation as a forward-thinking institution, the campus is energy efficient, powered by renewable energy.
With its diverse culture and abundance of cultural attractions, Rotterdam continues to be a popular study destination. The Dutch have the highest proficiency levels of non-native English in the world and non-EU alumni can apply to remain in the Netherlands on a one-year job search visa or a three-year business start-up visa. Thus, living and working in Rotterdam could not be easier for international graduates.
Accreditations
Rotterdam School of Management is triple-accredited, which means it has been accredited by the three largest and most influential accrediting bodies: the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA).
Less than 1% of business schools worldwide hold this prestigious “triple-crown” accreditation.
Programs
Rotterdam School of Management offers four MBA programs. The International Full-time MBA is a 12-month program for professionals with a minimum of three years’ work experience. The program helps students build critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to boost their career in business.
The Executive MBA is an 18-month, part-time program for mid-career professionals with at least four years of experience, while the Global Executive MBA is a 21-month, part-time program for candidates with at least 10 years of experience. Both EMBA programs provide students with a deep understanding of the mega-trends that drive global businesses today.
Lastly, the Cologne-Rotterdam Executive MBA is a 24-month, part-time program offered in collaboration with the University of Cologne. This program is for professionals with a minimum of four years of work experience, who are looking to master the fundamentals of business management and improve their leadership skills.
Scholarships
Rotterdam School of Management offers various scholarships for its Full-time MBA and Executive MBA programs.
Applicants to the International Full-time MBA at RSM will automatically be considered for a scholarship. Scholarships available for the International Full-time MBA program include the Force for Positive Change Scholarship (awarded to candidates with demonstrated experience in making a positive impact) and the Women in Business Scholarship (awarded to female candidates with strong career track records and leadership skills).
While the majority of Executive MBA students at RSM obtain company sponsorship, there are a number of available scholarships for Executive MBA candidates. These are the RSM Entrepreneur Award, the RSM Women in Business Award, the RSM Distinguished Expat in Business Award, and the RSM Distinguished Dutch in Business Award.
Fun fact
STAR is Rotterdam School of Management’s study association for business administration students. Founded in 1977, STAR currently has 6,500 members, making it the largest student-led study association in Europe.
STAR offers career start support, development and academic support, and social interaction opportunities. The STAR Management Week, for example, is the largest off-campus business and recruitment event in Benelux. Over 90 participating companies participate in this career event, including Rituals, Shell, PwC, Adyen, and L’Oréal. Another example is the RSM STAR Case Club, which provides consultancy training to RSM students. The top students are selected to compete against other business schools in international case competitions.
Social events organized by STAR range from karaoke nights to weekly drinks to international study trips.
